Scott Dieckhaus was born in Washington, Missouri, to parents David and Christine Dieckhaus on May 2, 1980. He is the oldest of four children.
After graduating from Washington High School in 1998, Dieckhaus attended East Central College in Union, Missouri. It was here he received an A.A. in Secondary Education in 2000. While at East Central, he was a member of Student Missouri State Teachers Association (SMSTA) and initiated into Phi Theta Kappa. After obtaining his A.A., Dieckhaus transferred to Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, Missouri, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with his B.A. in Social Sciences and Psychology and received his teaching certificate in Secondary Education in 2002. He continued his membership in SMSTA and became a member of Kappa Delta Pi while at Missouri Baptist University.
Dieckhaus taught World History and Psychology for three years for the Gasconade County R-I School District at Hermann High School. He was named to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers three times, served as the Renaissance Committee co-chairperson, and maintained his membership in Missouri State Teachers Association (MSTA). During this time, he also earned his M.A. in Educational Administration from Missouri Baptist University. After leaving Hermann High School, Dieckhaus taught American Government, American History, and World Geography for one year in the St. Clair R-XIII School District at St. Clair High School. He maintained his membership in MSTA and was a sponsor for the freshman class.
Between 2002 and 2008, Dieckhaus has worked for periods as an office manager for his father’s small business, Custom Security Services, LLC in Washington, Missouri, and in the tasting room of Montelle Winery in Augusta, Missouri.
Dieckhaus has been involved in Meals-on-Wheels, Washington Babe Ruth League, Franklin County Young Republicans, Washington Rotary Club, Franklin County Relay for Life, Washington Jaycees, Freemasons, Washington Optimist Club, Missouri Farm Bureau, and the Moolah Shriners. He is married to Katie, and the couple has two children, Caleb – age four – and Celia – age one.
